dollyllama > The Partridge Family Bus. Worse than having a mud caked foot and getting eaten up by parasites was standing in a small town taking picture of their one and only tourist attraction. I even slammed on the brakes of my car and pulled over the moment I saw it. I heard it was up here somewhere but I only happened upon it by accident. I hear the owner wants to sell it, eventually.
dollyllama > Ok, a bit about this shot. I got home late last night, was exhausted and frustrated. I probably looked awful and no doubt had a perma-scowl so no face shot. I decided to go for my naval. I grabbed an old frame (that's just the front, the back fell off). I went up to my room which, for a few minutes was cat free. I positioned the camera to face down, put the frame around my belly button and took a few shots. I don't have a remote shutter release so it was on a timer and I had to keep getting up, repositioning, refocusing...blah, blah. That's when the herd o' cats came up the stairs, saw me lying down and decided to climb all over me. I got one clear shot of my belly through all that but the lighting was awful. It also had some parts of me in it I didn't want on the web :D. I cropped it, but it wasn't getting better. I just started playing around in PS with angles and such and came up with this. Then a few filters. Then some color adjustments. I was about to save it in a strange green color when the words "naval orange" hit me. Made one more adjustment and saved.

I did so much to this image, none of it planned, so I don't even know all the things I did or used. This was a complete accident.
dollyllama > This is a red spotted eft. It's the third one I found in my garden, never saw any last year. Nearly stepped on him on the way to photograph a day lily. He is the smallest one I've seen so far, measuring all of about 2 inches. This photo is as shot, no post processing whatsoever, that's some color he's got!

dollyllama > I took this shot first thing this morning, wandering the yard in my nightie calling my cats in for breakfast. I've been waiting for this lily to bloom, little did I know it would explode!
dollyllama > I was pretty uninspired today and I went around taking some pretty uninspiring shots. I took this picture of a lovely gerbera daisy but it was a very ho hum picture. I was about to spot correct something and saw this as a crop and rather liked it.
dollyllama > I have this dressmakers mannequin and I put this suit on it to photograph to sell on ebay and then decided I could stand behind it, facing away and put my hair over the neck part...it came out weird...was a pain to do...but I like it.
dollyllama > crates
dollyllama > I shot about 200 pics of this caterpillar (and a companion nearby). I was just trying to get one crystal clear shot. I wasn't focused on composition. Looking through them I noticed this one and thought it was pretty cool. It's not the sharpest pic but I liked how my porch light silhouetted the plant and made it look like the moon.

I now have 2 caterpillar super-models living in my house. I do hope they don't become divas.
